If you like a more rustic aesthetic and want a maintenance-free material, this is a good choice. Bronze is a pricey option, but it won\u2019t rust or chip.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Brass:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brass is another metal that doesn\u2019t corrode and won\u2019t rust. It will tarnish outdoors, though, so it requires polishing in order to keep its luster. <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Stainless steel: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Stainless steel is a strong, durable metal known for its resistance to rust and corrosion. It lends a modern look to gates with its bright silver color and intense sheen. Price-wise it falls in the mid-range\u2014cheaper than brass and bronze, but pricier than powder-coated hardware.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>The Types of Hinge and Latch Options<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even if your gate hasn\u2019t recently fallen off like mine did, it might be time to replace the hinges to prevent it from happening in the future and causing damage to the wood. Installing a good quality <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ozcobp.com\/56656--s-latch-.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">latching mechanism<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> will ensure you don\u2019t end up in the frustrating situation of a latch that gets stuck in the locked position (especially if you\u2019re prone to rushing in and out of your home, like me).
